New Concepts for Living, Inc. Names Diana Germano Group Home Manager
(Rochelle Park, New Jersey) — New Concepts for Living Inc. (New Concepts) announces that Diana Germano of Lyndhurst and originally from Sparta, New Jersey has been named a Group Home Manager. New Concepts, a community non-profit organization based in Rochelle Park, works with people with developmental disabilities and their families throughout Bergen County.
In her new position, Ms. Germano works in various capacities with clients with developmental disabilities scheduling their activities for daily living, creating monthly reports about each client’s personal and emotional needs, among other responsibilities.
Previously, Ms. Germano worked as a social worker for St. Mary’s Hospital in Hoboken, New Jersey in the emergency room and the telemetry and dialysis units and as a crisis counselor in the geriatric psychiatric unit at Bergen Regional Hospital in Bergen, Pennsylvania.
Ms. Germano holds a clinical master’s degree in social work from the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service, where she completed the advanced accelerated program in one year. She received a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. She is a 2002 graduate of Sparta High School in Sparta, New Jersey.
She has actively volunteered with several non-profit organizations around the country. In October, 2007 she funded a trip to New Orleans and worked with Habitat for Humanity to rebuild homes located south of the 9th Ward that were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
Among her other volunteer contributions, Ms. Germano served as an assistant activity director with Pass-It-Along, a non-profit service organization based in Sparta, and as a youth ministry counselor with NY and NJ CARES volunteering at various soup kitchens in New Jersey, as well as in Pennsylvania, Louisiana, and New Mexico. She also volunteered at Camp Dost, an overnight camp for children with terminal illnesses in Millville, Pennsylvania that is sponsored by the Ronald McDonald Foundation, working with five-year-old children with terminal cancer.
