New Concepts for Living, Inc. Announces Appointment of Adam Fishman to Director of Residential Services
(Rochelle Park, New Jersey) — New Concepts for Living Inc. (New Concepts) announced today that Adam Fishman of Marlboro, New Jersey has been named the organization’s Director of Residential Services. As Director of Residential Services, he will oversee the organization’s residential services operations to ensure services are provided to consumers with developmental disabilities, provide staff training and development support, and other responsibilities.
New Concepts, a community non-profit organization based in Rochelle Park, works with people with developmental disabilities and their families throughout Bergen County.
For the past 15 years, Mr. Fishman has worked extensively in the social services field with people with developmental disabilities. Most recently, he worked with Enable, a non-profit organization in Princeton, New Jersey that services individuals with disabilities and their families, as Services Coordinator of two group homes and oversaw a day program.
Previously, he was employed for 13 years with New Horizons in Autism in Neptune, New Jersey assuming various positions, including teacher/counselor, assistant manager, manager, and Director of Respite Services. In this last position, he supervised 300 clients on a monthly basis and oversaw nearly a one million dollar budget. He also assisted in the daily operations of an after-school program for autistic children and gave presentations about autism at the Rutgers University Graduate School of Education and at corporate events.
For the past seven years, he has volunteered with the American Red Cross in Tinton Falls, New Jersey teaching First Aid and CPR.
Mr. Fishman graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Brooklyn College and an A.A.S. in Early Childhood Education from Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York.
