June 17, 2022: New Concepts for Living hosted their first Luau Bash on Friday, June 17th. The event was at the Park Ridge Elks Lodge #2234.
Staff transformed the lodge into a Hawaiian themed paradise.
Residents, day program, staff and family enjoyed a night of great food, fun and friendship.
Partygoers danced to tropical music. They formed a Conga Line. The crowd performed the limbo.
The event was a huge success!
June 8, 2022: Community Inclusion is important at New Concepts for Living. The Day Program schedules various trips.
Participants recently went to the Watchung Reservation. They explored nature. Residents learned about local flora and fauna.
Attendees learned how to identify poison ivy. They discovered why birds sing. The group saw chipmunks, eastern box turtles, and other critters.
Our extraordinary individuals enjoyed the sensory gardens.
Everyone had a great time.
May 27, 2022: New Concepts for Living's held their Memorial Day cookout. The weather was ideal.
Hot dogs, hamburgers, and chicken were grilled. Cold drinks were served. Everyone ate plenty.
Attendees socialized with friends. Games were played.
A great time was had by all!
June 3, 2022: New construction continues at NCFL.
Design and construction plans are of being finalized for a new residence in Hillsdale, NJ. Once complete, it will contribute to the significant need for residences for medically fragile individuals.
The house will be fully accessible with extra-wide doorways. It also includes spacious common areas and a modern kitchen. Two separate family rooms provide for a semi-private visitor room.
New Concepts for Living is excited to be able to provide this essential home for individuals who require 24-hour care.
May 30, 2022: Rochelle Park had their annual Memorial Day Parade. Services were held prior to the parade honoring those who died serving our country.
Community Inclusion is important at New Concepts for Living. We believe it is our responsibility to provide opportunities for the individuals we serve to be part of their community.
NCFL residents, staff, and family marched. The parade included veterans, bands and more.
The heat did not stop parade goers. Crowds lined the street and waved flags as marchers walked past.
Participants enjoyed hot dogs and snacks after the parade. Refreshments were courtesy of the American Legion, Post 170.
Everyone had a great time!

May 22, 2022: NCFL's annual Walk-A-Thon took place on Sunday, May 22nd. The event was held at Wood Dale Park, Woodcliff Lake, NJ.
NCFL's walkathon started in 2016. It is one of our largest fundraisers of the year.
All funds raised go towards the programs, services and community inclusion that is vital to the well-being of the adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities we care for.
Barr Karate, Hackensack, NJ, provided participants with a unique warm up prior to the walk.
Approximately 200 people walked.
News 12 New Jersey provided local coverage of our walk.
The event was a great success. Thank you to all who participated!
